Customer Reviews Toaster Oven Date: 2009-03-05 | Rating: 2 The DeLonghi Toaster Over is a piece of junk. I have a cheapie toaster oven right now. It is getting old and beat up so I decided to buy another one. I am limited as to overhead space. This is one reason why I decided on the DeLonghi. It is only around eight inches high and had a good rating. But, it is not user friendly. On my old toaster oven, when the door is opened the shelf is pulled out for easy access to the shelf itself, to pull it farther out if desired, and to the items cooking in the oven. The DeLonghi does not have this feature so I have burned my hands on several occasions trying to get the toast out of the oven. Plus, there is no way to turn the oven off if I make a wrong choice as to how long the bread is suppose to toast. In this situation I have to reach into the oven, with the burner going at full blast, to retrieve my bread so it will not over cook. And finally, if I desire to cook something for an extended period, I cannot easily do so. There is no way to turn the oven on an leave it on. So, if I want to cook something that takes longer than toast to cook, every few minutes I have to reset the timer. As I said, the DeLonghi is a piece of junk. I wish I had never bought it. Retuning it is such a hassle I have decided to put it in storage and to continue using my older toaster oven. To summarize, it is a piece of crap and I wish the law would allow me to beat the designer over the head with it. Signed, Norman Felts This toaster oven cannot make toast. Date: 2008-08-19 | Rating: 1 I returned 2 of them due to defective design. The first one that arrived had a defective knob which I would have had Delonghi replace but following the enclosed instructions for making toast, the lower element did not come on until well into the cycle so the top burned while the bottom was not toasted at all. I tried wheat bread, raisin bread and frozen waffles on several darkness settings and both rack positions. Although the unit seemed flimsy for $75 for a basic toaster oven, it was one of the few 4 slice (smaller) units and it looked OK on the counter so I had Amazon replace it. The toast function on second one was identical to the first so I returned it too. Delonghi is not a cheap brand; it should do better. Amazon should not carry this model. avoid this product Date: 2008-09-16 | Rating: 1 This is a cheaply made, badly designed and completely unsatisfactory excuse for a toaster oven. Delonghi should be ashamed of producing it. 3 Strikes - this Toaster Oven is OUT! Date: 2008-12-27 | Rating: 1 I really, really wanted this toaster oven. It was the perfect size and design and Amazon had it at a great price. I wanted modern looking Stainless Steel but not digital operation. Thought this was my answer. Well the first one they sent me shorted out my kitchen GFI (Ground Fault Interrupter) plug. Every time I turned it on, it turned the electricity off. Moved it around to different plugs and the same thing happened. So I sent it back and asked for a replacement. Amazon was happy to accommodate me. But the second one I received would not toast two cycles in a row. The first pair of bread slices would toast, but when I tried to follow up with a second pair of slices, it would never get hot enough to toast the bread. The bars would not even get read. So I ended up with hot, very hard bread that never browned or toasted. So I sent the second one back and asked for a 3rd replacement. Again, Amazon was willing to give it another chance. But then the third toaster did the same thing the first toaster did. It shorted out every plug I tried in my kitchen making me re-set the GFI plugs. I thought perhaps they had sent me back the same toaster I had returned the first time. But I don't think so because of the way I know that I had packed up the warranty information papers. This seemed to be packed in the original manner that was done by the factory and not the way I had stuffed the papers into the toaster oven. So I sent it back again. SAVE YOUR MONEY and FIND a DIFFERENT TOASTER OVEN! And if you find a good one, please review it on Amazon as I still have not found a decent toaster oven for my new kitchen. NO ! Date: 2008-06-10 | Rating: 1 Unlike every other toaster oven I have used over the past 25 years, in this one the toast rack is not connected to the door, so you have to reach inside a narrow hot oven to extract your toast. OW! The toasting is also slow.

Customer Reviews Not Happy Date: 2008-04-07 | Rating: 5 This oven was purchased to replace a well-used DeLonghi toaster oven that we had for over six years. The previous oven had been used daily (at least once a day) for that time. One of the lower heating elememnts became so warped we figured it was on "borrowed time";so we began looking for a replacement. A Delonghi of course! We chose this model as it closely represented the model we had (in printed description) only it was not. The racks and included trays were no where near the quality of the previous oven and fortunately the timer switch was discrepant so we returned it. We have since found a replacement oven (DeLonghi) and are very happy with it. William Waldron Very Pleased Overall Date: 2008-05-12 | Rating: 4 Cooks well and evenly -- I even believe the fan shaves off may be five minutes of cook time. Seems well built and knobs are easy to use/figure out. My only minus is with the main oven rack. It seems a little short or flimsy as when any weight is applied and then it is slid in/out, it comes off of the track. I haven't had any food fall as it gets wedged low. It's just annoying and may eventually scrape the interior oven coating. 3rd generation model and still pleased Date: 2010-01-18 | Rating: 4 We keep ordering this model because we've always been pleased with cooking performance and the first one lasted years. The previous model didn't last very long, had shiny knobs that were hard to read, and knobs snapped in half. And we still ordered the new version! Why? A. Looks like they fixed all the previous issues with this model, still nice looks and knobs are much better. (Most knobs are really junky out there.) B. Because they're just easy to use, versitle, and cook very well. I highly rate these. Still like the convection models for faster times and getting things crispy. These are large enough to make most side dishes in and avoid the large oven. If this one doesn't last 4-5 years I'll revise my ratings and move on to another brand. Well, maybe. delonghi toaster oven with convection Date: 2007-12-18 | Rating: 3 I have owned 3 Delonghi Toaster Ovens over the past 20 years. Their current products are not nearly as consumer friendly then what they manufactured in the past. Their styling is nothing to rave about and they use to make a clean free product which they no longer make. The shelves are not up to standards. For the price the value is no longer there. Noisy! Date: 2008-08-31 | Rating: 1 This oven made the _worst_ noise when the fan was running. It was actually difficult to talk over its roar. Returned it and got the Cuisinart which is excellent!

Customer Reviews Can't say I agree with the others... ours works great, but no secret midnight toast. Date: 2007-01-27 | Rating: 5 My biggest complaint about most of the ovens I have looked at in the stores was that the door feels loose and janky. Let's see, the thing I use the most SHOULDN'T be the cheapest-feeling thing on it, but they usually were. The door on the DeLongi is not the most noticeable thing - meaning it just blends in with the rest of the construction as far as quality and usefulness. Meaning: NO janky garbage here. The knobs are good, still way better than the ones I felt on the new O***r ovens, which were horrible. The heating element is nicely placed in that i found it heated the food evenly. A mini pizza came out with an even browning on both sides. When using the supplied trays you may find that the heat doesn't quite travel around the tray to the top like it should. We end up using the rack most of time, anyway. The top of the unit gets very warm, but doesn't feel as though it would burn you if you touched it quickly. (If you pass out and fall on top of this thing you might experience a different result.) The sides remain quite cool to the touch. The back, however, is just metal and gets just as hot as the inside of the oven. I recommend you keep an eye on just how far back you shove this thing to your wall. Anything that touches the back of the unit MAY get hot or become melted (i.e. wiring, counter back splash, Grandma's hand-knitted doilies...) The bell is kind of annoying. In this day and age, I do not own anything that has a bell and striker. When the timer reaches zero or when you turn it off the oven rings the bell once. I found it a bit 'rotary dial' sounding (yes, you're old if you remember those phones.) So, when you are up at midnight sneaking in a piece of toast you will surely wake up the others with the tell-tale sound of that stupid bell as you turn off the oven. Then you will have to either explain or share. I'm opening it up and removing it - I like my secret midnight toast. All being said, I HIGHLY recommend this oven. NEW DElonghi ovens Cheap! Date: 2004-12-19 | Rating: 2 I have owned many Delonghi Toaster ovens oven years.Delonghi ovens are generally made well & durable for years. Delonghi ovens are typically more expensive than other manufacturer but worth the money. This model EO1200B is from Delonghi newest line of toaster oven. It looks & is made very cheap. I used my mother's rmodel EO1200B oven and was very disappointed. Interior oven walls are made of aluminum not durastone enamel like other delonghi ovens. Aluminum inside oven impossible to clean. The wire rack can only be used one way. Other delonghi oven racks have 2 positions. Inside oven there are 2 positions/slots to put rack but bottom rack slot is too low to coils & will burn food. Pizza will fit in oven only if pizza is made "perfectly" to align with shape of back wall. Do not recommend this oven. Buy an older Delonghi ovens which are made much better. I think Delonghi cut corners on their NEW LINE of toaster ovens to compete with other manufactures prices!! OK Oven Short Life Date: 2008-01-01 | Rating: 2 Had it about a year and a half and it just died. I can't say there are any really good features to praise. Toasting is kind of slow. Delonghi Toaster Oven Date: 2006-07-13 | Rating: 1 Although aesthetically pleasing and a great additional feature of being able to fit pizza. This "toaster"oven takes way to long to toast and doesn't seem to have enough of a heating element. I paid a little more than I normally would to get quality but was VERY Dissapointed. Bad DeLonghi Experience Date: 2006-08-30 | Rating: 1 We purchased a DeLonghi toaster oven and both the toaster and oven functions stopped working right after the one year warranty expired. We barely used this product. When contacting customer service we were told that there were no replacement parts available for our model and there was nothing we could do and nothing they would do for us. My $20 toastmaster lasted more than 15 years! This is the last time I buy a toaster based on appearance!

Date: 2006-02-22 | Rating: 5 I wasn't planning on buying yet another toaster oven for my home, but I ran into this Delonghi oven when I went looking for a toaster oven for my workplace. I ended up buying another one for my home because of its performance and great styling. It fits perfectly into a modern stainless steel accented kitchen. It is the best looking toaster oven ever, in my opinion; and it fits a 12" pizza pan due to the little semi-circle punchout area in the back. It is fairly large, which can be good or bad; but what good is a toaster oven that can basically only do toast! The old-fashioned clicking timer dial, that sounds a loud bell when your time is up; is kind of retro and actually useful. Complaints about its usefulness as an oven are misguided-it is very easy to learn how to operate the stay-on function. The bottom line is that you're going to burn out almost any toaster oven within 4-5 years, so why obsess on the long-term. This unit looks great, works great, and makes really good toasted bagels, pizza, chicken nuggets, and all the other things you buy a toaster oven for. Plus,I didn't want electronic timers and convection features offered on some more expensive models, that can often fail. What you have here is the highest incarnation of the classic electro-mechanical toaster oven. Excellent Toaster Oven! Date: 2006-11-07 | Rating: 5 We only buy DeLonghi Toaster Ovens. This is probably our 4th over the years. They all last a good long time (4-5 years) and this one is awesome too. Don't know what all the fuss is about with regards to fingerprints or knobs, have not experienced either. The price is good, the shipping is free - It's a great deal and the toaster makes awesome toast, comepletely even without having to turn over. And it bakes chicken, broils steak and anything else you can think of. We are baking a cake tomorrow in it and I am sure it will be fine. I don't remember the last time I turned my regular oven on. I do everything in this Toaster Oven!!!! Great Toaster Oven - Nice size! Date: 2006-02-08 | Rating: 4 This is a really great toaster oven! I just recently bought it and I am delighted to say that I won't need to be returning it. It looks beautiful, however, finger prints are very noticeable on its completely stainless steel exterior. I haven't tried a 12 inch pizza yet, so I'm not too sure if it can really crank one of those out. But for the basic uses of a toaster oven, it has a very even "toast" or "bake." Clean-up is easy with it's removable crumb tray, and it's also not ungodly big like my previous toaster oven. I LOVE making biscuits in this thing! They are perfect!! My other toaster oven would burn the outside and inside, they would still be doughy. This thing cranks biscuits out perfetcly! It could be a tad quieter though.... UPDATE: I wish I could change my star rating to 1 or 2! The chrome metal right by the opening of the door is becoming discolored! You know that yellowish brownish look. It's not bad right now, but in the forseeable future, it will be pretty noticeable. I'm pretty ticked off that I spent $100 on a toaster that has a design flaw....ugh Excellent oven Date: 2007-10-30 | Rating: 4 This oven is very nice. This will bake as well as a large oven without burning edges. I used this for 5 months now several times per week with no trouble with the dials as others complained about. My only complaint is the labeling of the dials. I recently cleaned this unit with oven cleaner which turned this into a new unit again. The only problem was the dial lettering started to fade away. So be careful with cleaners. I should have taped over them for protection but live and learn. Anyway, I would have liked to see the lettering engraved instead of enamel paint. Still a fantastic oven and would purchase again if needed. Delight With DeLonghi Date: 2006-02-20 | Rating: 4 An excellent toaster oven with great looks that match our stainless steel appliances. It functions very well. The knobs are not up to the same quality as the rest of the oven.

Customer Reviews best toaster oven I have owned Date: 2008-01-13 | Rating: 5 I have gone through 3 or 4 toaster ovens over the years and this is the ONE. My wife loves it too, which is all that really matters. The fan bake is the best, food gets done quick and the food is actually properly browned and crispy. I love the light inside the unit and the digital readout ensures the temp. is correct and the timer keeps me from over cooking the food. Something that is neat about this unit is that it has a quick function guide that pulls out from the bottom so you don't have to keep the user guide around in case you want to figure out what the pizza settings mean, etc. My only complaint is that the display doesn't seem centered (the top and side has a white border, the bottom and right side doesn't). In addition it is pretty bright. A good night light I guess. I would recommend this unit, it is just like William Sonoma unit (minus the dehydrator function and no stainless steel top/side casing). Love it So Far Date: 2007-08-12 | Rating: 5 Have only had it 6 weeks. But surpasses my expectations. Have used it daily and am very happy and impressed. Cook on all settings efficiently and does not heat up my whole kitchen. Have cooked cakes, pizza, bread, cookies, cornbread, potatoes, all perfect. Glad it has an inside ligt, very useful. Lovely Looking & Perfect Cooking! Date: 2007-10-01 | Rating: 5 I love this convection oven. It's exactly the same oven as the one at Williams Sonoma, which is sold at $200. I called Delonghi and they said the only difference is the color. It preheats fast, and does its job perfectly. I love the digital looking, and it's very easy to use. I also like the tray at the bottom, because it is so easy to clean. Overall, it is perfect. Quality toaster / convection oven Date: 2009-02-22 | Rating: 5 This DeLonghi is one of the few toaster / convection ovens that has an enamel interior (and not an interior coated with Teflon or similar material). The controls are reasonably sturdy. There is a good range of cooking settings, including one for dehydrating vegetables and fruits. Everyone is sensitive to different sounds, but I do not find the beeping noises that accompany choosing settings annoying or bothersome. Unless you have a bedroom next to the kitchen, it's not likely a problem. These comments are based on 1 week's worth of use. Awesome toaster oven! Date: 2009-05-22 | Rating: 5 This toaster oven is not only stylish, it cooks food to perfection. I used this instead of heating up my large oven and it cooks faster than the full sized oven too. Pizza comes out with a crispy crust and perfectly cooked cheese. The controls are easy to use and it has all the functions you could possibly need. De'Longhi makes great toaster ovens.

Customer Reviews Excellent Choice Date: 2009-10-16 | Rating: 5 Our old toaster oven exploded, so we decided to upgrade with this purchase. Our son-in-law is a professional chef and he recommended the DeLonghi. It may seem like a minor feature, but the interior light was also a deciding factor in our purchase of this oven. We've had it about 2 months and it's great. I've actually cooked meals in it which I never did in my old toaster oven. I use my large ovens much less often now. I have not used the toaster feature, so I can't comment on that, but I'd recommend the oven without hesitation. Solid Choice Date: 2009-09-17 | Rating: 4 I have had the DO1289 for a month and overall I am very happy with it. The toaster is gorgeous and does a great job baking. I have cooked fish and steaks and everything has turned out perfectly. The convection fan is not too loud and does its job well. In terms of toasting, the oven is not spectacular, but certainly adequate. Getting a crispy slice of toast takes about 5 minutes. Though it takes a few clicks to do anything on the toaster, the controls and knobs are straightforward and well designed. I spent a long time analyzing and breaking down the pros and cons of the different top quality toasters so hopefully this review can save you some time. Here are the other toasters I looked at seriously : Cuisinart TOB-195: Generally well-reviewed, but I could not get past the fact that the toaster does not have automatic shut-off. This is a key safety feature that I was unwilling to sacrifice. The DO1289 does have auto shut-off and turns off after beeping loudly 3 times. In addtion, the Cuisinart's crumb tray comes out the back, which seems totally stupid and impractical. Krups FBC2: Looked like the perfect toaster, but again a safety feature got in the way. Apparently the Krups model has a poorly constructed door hinge and is prone to exploding. The DO1289's door is very smooth opening and seems well constructed. The Krups' quartz heating would have been nice, but still not worth it. I also suspect that the Delonghi has a little more overhead clearance than the Krups so I can roast a small chicken. Breville Smart Oven: If it wasn't so expensive, i might have gone with this since it has every feature and is the most powerful and spacious, but $250 for a toaster is just absurd. I bought my Delonghi refurbished for $70, so it was no contest. The Delonghi also has an oven light (which most others do not) and a permanently illuminated display-- a great feature at night for seeing the time. One other feature that doesn't get much attention but was very important to me is the Delonghi's enamel interior. This is great because, unlike toasters with nonstick interiors, I can put metal and glass dishes in the oven, as well as aluminum foil (every one of the other aforementioned ovens has a nonstick interior). Plus, I don't trust the chemicals in nonstick and I prefer not to use any nonstick products when I cook. Based on my comparisons with other toaster ovens, I found that the Delonghi 1289 is the best designed and most practical. The Delonghi's performance is very good, though not spectacular, it has great features and, in my opinion, is the best choice for a high-end toaster oven. Sharp looking toaster/convection oven Date: 2010-01-20 | Rating: 4 Bought this a few weeks ago and have been using it everyday. I've used the convection oven for meatloaf -- it was wonderful -- developed a nice crisp exterior and was moist inside. Baked French macarons with the convection setting so that the exterior of the cookie would get extra help drying and the cookies were awesome. Perfect. Toasting does take longer than a smaller toaster oven -- but I've gotten used to it. It's very nice looking and it's a DeLonghi -- looks great in the kitchen. But it's all good -- only minor drawback are the cookie trays -- I would say they could be a heavier weight so that the bottoms of cookies don't burn. Other than that -- it's a nice toaster/convection oven/oven. Very nice styling and enamel inside. Lots of trays. Big interior. 2 racks. Haven't dried fruit yet -- that will be the next experiment.

Customer Reviews It's a WINNER Date: 2008-05-31 | Rating: 5 My last rotisserie toaster oven failed miserably compared to the DeLonghi. The rotisserie is neat and compact, there are several levels for racks within the oven, and it even makes toast. Toasting in these ovens takes additional time than a standard toaster, but DeLonghi's controls permit you to set the range of darkness, and it works. I'm looking forward to a long relationship with my new appliance. DeLonghi 6-Slice Convection Toaster Oven Date: 2009-06-27 | Rating: 5 My wife is very pleased with this Toaster Oven. It works well and replaces an oven that we didn't like. The rounded area in the rear of the oven allows you to place a round dish inside and shut the door. A+++++ No other convection toaster oven on the market at this price. Date: 2007-12-12 | Rating: 5 There is no other convection toaster oven on the market at this price that is as good at this one!!!!!!! Good overall, minor issues Date: 2008-03-07 | Rating: 4 After extensively researching toaster ovens to replace my fried Cuisinart Classic (which I liked prior to its death), I ran across this one at a local retailer. The major difference between this model and all the others I looked at is build quality. Think simple, solid, italian...not creaky, flimsy and chinese. The dials switch through their functions with confidence, the door opens smoothly, fittings are metal (not plastic), and generally if it's well built on the outside, it's going to last on the inside. It has a "convection" option which activates a tiny fan...who knows whether this is useful or not in such a small space. The auto-on-off oven light is a nice touch. It also does rotisserie, though I have no use for it. My issues with it? - Seemingly lower than average temperature (390 as opposed to 450 degrees F) - Takes all three dials to activate the oven. - Rack guides allow the tray to teeter/pivot if not fully in place - Toast gets dried out (typical Delonghi) so if you like toast, buy a Dualit But overall? Much better than most for the cooking I do, great value, reminds me of well built italian coffee makers from the '80s. Great Toaster with a couple of Minor Issues Date: 2008-05-15 | Rating: 4 My main problem is with the bottom knob. It does not list times in minutes but has light, medium and dark on it. I would prefer 5, 10 and 15 minutes so I know how much time to set. And as stated in a previous review the rack guides allow the tray to teeter/pivot if not fully in place. I bought this mainly because I like Rotisserie chicken and wanted to make it at home. Do to it's small size you are limited to 4 pound chickens and I have found it hard to find chickens that are that small. It also takes some tying up with butchers twine to make the chicken a uniform size so it can spin around without touching the heating bars. It makes a great chicken though!
