However, fiddling with the huge oven in the morning just does not cut the bill for me, so I got this one from (.....). I have heard that Delonghi makes good kitchen appliance, so bought this one. I was little concerned since I never use a toaster oven with digital interface. However, after using it couple of times, I like it much better than rotary dial based control that one can usually see in toaster ovens. Toasting performance is very good. I tried backing some onions tonight and the result is pretty decent, if not perfect as I used to do over charcoal. Overal, I am happy with this oven. Will see how long it lasts. I like the timer and that the rack slides out when the door is opened. It's just the right size for my small area and I love it. So many reviews about loud beeps, they don't exist in my unit. Beeps are at a normal and comfortable level, same as my microwave oven. The factory has probally reduced it for units being shipped now. Tried the toast, broil and bake modes, all worked perfectly. Easy to operate. The timing for the toast mode is preset to a nominal 4 min. time and you can adjust that up/down with the push of a button for whatever your toasting and your preference (simple). The temperature for the bake mode is preset to 350 degree and you can adjust that up/down in 50 degree increments with a push of a button (simple). Never had a chance of getting close to the correct toast time or oven temperature with the knobs(inacccurate) in our old unit, it was all guess work. Amazon gives the dimensions of the box which was misleading to me. I believe the majority of purchasers of this type of item are more interested in the actual unit size. We were very much concerned about counter space as I think most consumers are. The dimensions of the unit are approx. 14.5 " Width x 8" Height x 10 " Depth. (1200 watts) The only unknown thing is reliability and time will tell about that. Would recomend this toaster to anyone and I give it 5 stars. Better than description ... Lights and signals give freedom to continue working around the kitchen. Great addition to a busy kitchen. EXCELLANT TOAST-R-OVEN Date: 2008-05-31 | Rating: 5 I have owned this toast-r-oven for two years. A power failure "fryed" the digital works. I was unable to get it fixed as parts were no longer available. I searched the web and I was able to find the last (known) Delonghi XD479B toast-r-oven for sale. I quickly bought it. It is the best four slice toast-r-oven I have ever owned. I believe this product is no longer manufactured. I don't know which Delonghi toast-r-oven has replaced it nor do I know why (if) it has been replaced.
